- Advocacy Efforts: The American Diabetes Association is advocating for increased funding for diabetes programs and encourages community members to engage with state legislators to support diabetes-related initiatives.
- Educational Opportunities:
- The YMCA is offering fitness classes for all ages and fitness levels.
- Penn State Extension will launch “Dining With Diabetes” classes in a virtual format starting September 4, 2025.
- Men’s Health Month: June is Men’s Health Month, featuring discussions on health disparities affecting men and the importance of regular health check-ups.
- Cooking Classes: The ADA is hosting free, live virtual cooking classes focused on diabetes-friendly meals, allowing participants to learn and ask questions in real-time.
