POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Diabetes Coalition of York County, a community collaboration working to decrease the incidence of diabetes in south central Pennsylvania and linking those already diagnosed, to resources for healthy living.

Our mission is to empower those at-risk for and living with diabetes, through education and raising awareness to decrease the rate of diabetes in York County, improving the lifestyles of those we serve. The Diabetes Coalition of York County, established in 2017, is a community collaboration of non-profit and healthcare organizations, committed to advocacy, awareness, empowerment and prevention. We are determined and on a quest to make our community stronger beginning with you.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serves as primary contact for the Diabetes Coalition of York County.
- Serves as a part-time, paid contractor for the Coalition.
- Manages the Coalition website, diabetesyork.org:
- Works with Nicely Done Sites, our web designer, for site changes and updates.
- Manages website expenses, submitting invoices to the YMCA of the Roses for payment.
- Develops and posts video resources.
- Writes/secures and posts weekly health and lifestyle blogs.
- Adds relevant event and program information to the event calendar.
- Sends electronic newsletters to subscribers and health fair/expo participants.
- Reviews website and email analytics, making changes to increase engagement.
- Organizes Coalition health fairs and events.
- Works with coalition members to plan the events.
- Develops marketing collateral.
- Secures health fair vendors.
- Secures event giveaways.
- Manages the Coalition social media LinkedIn and Facebook accounts:
- Schedules regular posts, driving community members to the website and health fair events.
- Reviews analytics and works to increase engagement.
- Secures Coalition funding for continued coalition work.
- Secures health fair/expo sponsorships.
- Works with YMCA of the Roses to submit grant requests.
- Builds authentic relationships with community partners and members, expanding the reach of the
Coalition. - Completes additional duties as assigned by the Coalition

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess organizational and communication skills to effectively plan and implement projects while
clearly sharing information with the coalition and the community at large - Experience with multiple social media platforms required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, data base software, website maintenance and desktop publishing
- Excellent writing skills for website and newsletter content
